Mary Oliver, “The Chance to Love Everything”
Peace will come, surely. But I can imagine no other peace than that of our two bodies bound together, of our gaze given over to each other.I have no other homeland but you.
i’m not sure if this counts as good writing per se, but i read twilight when i was around 11 so it really expanded my vocabulary. in particular, i’m pretty sure i learned the words “unconditional” and “irrevocable” from the series, bc whenever i see those words in any context i always think of bella’s little “and third, i was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him” monologue
I think I remember there was even a Twilight-themed SAT prep or something because of the vocabulary?
Ah yes, here it is:

What did my heart do, with its love?
